I think I faced the similar problem again today. I am the 'invited' speaker for tonight GBOS, and I am one of the 2 speakers for tonight, the other spekaer is a 'International Motivational' Speaker all the way from Singapore, and he has a title which goes like CLU and ChFC, he was, infact, one of the 'Guru' in his industry and he play a part in motivating me many years ago when I was in one of his sessions.

Now, the problem arrise when, again, my Branch Manager (BM) come forward and 'hint' to me that I am not supposed to do the 'Motivational' Part of the speech, and my role is just to tell people my profile and all the stories since I joined PM, I was wondering why for a second. Then I found out from other Branch Managers that, this 'International Motivational' Speaker used to complained about a few things when he was touring around the PM Branches, some goes like the sound system not good enough or the Computer is out dated and can not run his slides smoothly, etc.

To my understanding, my BM is worry about him complaining anything to the HQ like he did to other branches, which MAY jeopardise her 'corporate ladder', so instead of asking to do a good show, she was (sort of) requesting that I do not 'do the best I can' but tune down a bit to not to cover the 'shining crown' of this 'International Motivational' Speaker.

Ok, before I say anything more, if my BM read this, please remind everyone I am a 'D' and 'C' and it is my nature to say what I thought without a filtering system.

First thing first, I am a GAM in Public Mutual, the reason why I was asked to do a sharing is because I am technically useful to the company, which I think my past record shows that people like my sharing and it create results. (for proofs please click Summary here) And because I am an agent myself, I also invited many (more than 50) prospective consultant, either directly or in-directly under me, to come for this GBOS. Am I supposed to 'shine' less than I am? I think not!

Infact, this is what I think the Branch should do:

1. Check with th Agent Speaker if he is free to do sharing and Invite him/her. (Ok, Branch is already doing)
   
2. Go through the Agent's Speaker slides for compliance factor. (Ok, Branch is already doing)
   
3. Go through the Contracted Motivational Speaker slides for compliance factor. (Not sure if Branch do that.)
   
4. Understand that a Good Agent Speaker (who speaks well) will speak with more persuading power because they are 'IN IT'. (Not sure if Branch understand this.)
   
5. If they found any overlapping materials in both speakers slides, ask the two speakers to sit down and go through a adjustment session. (Nope, definitely Branch is  NOT doing this at this moment.)
   
6. In most cases, the material from the Agent Speaker should have more priority over the Contracted Motivational Speaker, why?
   
7. Because, think about this: The Contracted Motivational Speaker is PAID to do what they should do isn't it? And the Agent Speaker is doing this, most of the times, is because he either LOVE to do it, or he need to do this for personal reason, and this personal reason most of the time is contributing to the sales of the company.
   

My question is: Why should a 'Free of charge' (FOC) Good Agent Speaker be given a secondary priority in favour of a PAID Contracted Motivational Speaker? Let alone whether it is Politically Correct to do this, is it at all Economically Correct for the Branch to do this??

My decision is this. I am gonna try my best to the last drop to perform well in tonight's  Presentation, even much better than the Contracted Motivational Speaker! Ofcause, without any filtering system switched on.
