Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan Information...


Hokkaido is Japan's second largest island but only 5% of the country's population live here. Russian researcher Evgeniy Podolskiy sent his photos and views of this unique place.


The main city on the island, Sapporo, is the youngest city in Japan. Until 140 years ago, there was nothing but wilderness. Now 1.8 million people live here...


Sapporo's population is very young and it is one of Japan's most desirable places to live for young people. Not surprisingly, the city is famous for its vibrant night life.


The national park Shikotsu-Toya is a popular tourist destination. There is an abundance of hot springs and this is the stinking Hell Valley...
