Because he just got a BRAND NEW Nikon D700... I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!!!
The main difference between D300 and D700 (the bigger brother) is D700 has a 'Professional' Full Frame ('FX' as seen on the neck strap) CMOS Sensor. It also take all the DX lens, so a 16mm wide angle will appear as true 16mm wide angle, how cool is that!? :-)
